You’ll love our location. We are conveniently located in Clearwater, just a short distance from St. Petersburg and Tampa. St. Petersburg-Clearwater (PIE) airport is a short five minute drive across the Bay Bridge and Tampa International (TPA) airport is a 20 minute drive across the Courtney Campbell Causeway. Shopping, great restaurants, beaches, golf courses, hospitals and parks are all located nearby.


Clearwater hosts the Philadelphia Phillies spring training facility and nearby are the Toronto Blue Jays (Dunedin), Tampa Bay Rays (Port Charlotte), New York Yankees (Tampa), Detroit Tigers (Lakeland), and Pittsburgh Pirates (Bradenton). Several other baseball teams’ facilities are within a 2-3 hour drive. Tampa also hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

We are located 22 miles from Busch Gardens and only 90 miles from Disney World. Additionally, several state and county parks are located within minutes and some are only a short drive from our park. These parks have wonderful facilities such as handicap accessible walking and biking trails, boardwalks, observation towers and overlooks, multiple shelters with picnic tables and grills, numerous lakes, streams, and/or bay access and many varieties of wildlife and birds are seen regularly.

    Retirement Paradise

Parkwood Estates is a resident owned, age 55+ community, consisting of 94 manufactured/mobile homes for relaxed Florida living. Our community is a Not-For-Profit Corporation that was established under Florida Statute 719 in 1994. The members of the cooperative each own a share in our non-profit corporation which includes the land, clubhouse, pool, and common areas.

Our low monthly maintenance fees cover the costs of lawn services, water, sewer, trash services, and pool and clubhouse maintenance. Our community is relaxed, peaceful, and quiet with 'no pet' and 'no motorcycle' policies.

These combine to provide very affordable and relaxed living in a wonderful warm climate. Residents originate from all over the United States and Canada.

        Social Activities

At Parkwood Estates our residents enjoy a variety of scheduled recreational and social activities.

Monthly, these include group breakfasts at a variety of local restaurants, coffee hours, brunches, and pot luck dinners in our clubhouse. On special occasions and holidays we have a variety of marvelous dinners of various cuisines frequently followed by live music and dancing.  When we do not have live entertainment, we use our fabulous sound system.

The weekly schedule is packed with yoga, aerobics, various card games, shuffleboard and other activities.

A beautiful park has walking and biking trails with a boardwalk leading to a lake with wildlife viewing and fishing allowed. Park trails connect to trails within Moccasin Lake Nature Park.

Moccasin Lake Nature Park, (Clearwater Park)

Moccasin Lake is a 51-acre nature preserve with trails and boardwalks under a canopy of mature oaks and across ponds and creeks, with an array of wildlife including gopher turtles, raccoons, and many birds. It is home to several injured birds of prey at the Moccasin Lake Raptor Center

Bayview Park, (Clearwater Park)

Underneath an historic oak grove, Bayview Park offers a chance to experience a Florida rarely found in this area. Inside the park, there is over a half mile of nature trails, picnic areas, a beach overlook and an abundance of native vegetation and wildlife. From wetlands to an old oak forest over one hundred years old, the dynamic landscape will keep a plant and wildlife enthusiast coming back for more.

Pinellas County Parks

 John Chesnut Sr. Park, (Pinellas County Park)

This park is home to various birds and wildlife, and adjacent to Lake Tarpon. Park trails feature a self-guided nature trail, an elevated boardwalk running along the boat ramp, and an elevated lookout tower for a scenic overview of Lake Tarpon.

Eagle Lake Park, (Pinellas County Park)

A key feature is the wetlands section on the western side of the park which has been restored with 100 percent native plants. The park is home to fox squirrels, numerous bird species, gopher tortoises and water turtles. There are numerous shell paths for walking and enjoying nature, more than 2,000 feet of boardwalks over restored wetlands, and catch and release fishing is permitted from designated areas.

Philippe Park, (Pinellas County Park)

Take in the view of Old Tampa Bay while strolling along a one-mile shoreline. Enjoy picnicking, fishing, and historical points of interest. Kids love the playground, a rock-climbing park, ball field, and open spaces to roam. A public boat ramp with access to Tampa Bay is open during park hours. The Temple Mound was built by Native Americans known as the Tocobaga. It is the largest remaining mound in the Tampa Bay region.

Sand Key Park, (Pinellas County Park)

This beautiful park has two distinct areas—a beach and a park. In the park proper are two picnic shelters with a playground, and restrooms. Grills, picnic tables, and water fountains are but a few amenities. A salt marsh with viewing benches further enhances the park where heron, roseate spoonbill, great horned owl, anhinga, and common moorhen nest and feed. Sand Key Park’s natural communities include a beach where sea turtles annually deposit eggs. The nearby Clearwater Aquarium takes responsibility for these nests and keeps statistics.

Wall Springs Park, (Pinellas County Park)

A historical, natural spring once used as a spa and bathing area, complete with a viewing area, boardwalk, and information display serves as the centerpiece of this 210-acre park that is connected to the Pinellas Trail. This park has a covered, barrier-free playground, boardwalks, nature trails, and a 35-foot observation tower for a scenic view of the Gulf of Mexico. Look for wildlife like squirrels, raccoons, rabbits, reptiles and water wildlife, as well as birds that live around Boggy Bayou. The Wall Springs Coastal Addition includes a picnic shelter, restrooms, parking, elevated observation deck, both natural and paved trails, and a 5ft wide sidewalk
