March 2023
Many of our residents live in the northern states or Canada. The northern lights below were seen in northern Wisconsin the evening of 3-22-2023. Such a display is rarely or never seen in Florida.

May 8, 2022 SPACEX Launch
Before sunrise, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched 53 internet satellites from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Even from Parkwood Estates, it created a dazzling effect in the sky, which has been termed a "space jellyfish." The sunlight reflected off the exhaust plume, creating the halo effect. and showed them to the world.

Hurricane IRMA Sept 9-10, 2017
On the weekend of September 9-10, 2017, Hurricane IRMA struck the Clearwater/Tampa area with 6-10 inches of rain, 100+ MPH winds, and a 4–10-foot storm surge.
Parkwood Estates fared very well with little serious damage. Three homes had roof/carport damage and two homes had palm trees fall on them. We had trees across streets and various debris scattered throughout the park and little other known damage. We were all blessed.
The link below is a video taken by a drone above the park showing damages.
