Parkwood Community Volunteers

We are a small and close senior community.   Since we are a small community we cannot afford the luxuries of hiring outsiders to manage our events, maintain our flowers and shrubs, and to perform other duties around the park.  As a result, our residents frequently share in performing activities that are not too strenuous to help one another and to help our community as a whole.

Below are some of the activities performed by Parkwood volunteers to help our community or to help one another. Some volunteer tasks are one-time activities while others are repetitive. We began tracking volunteer activities during the 2022-2023 season with the list below:

• First and foremost, we commend our board of directors for the thankless hours they donate in performing their duties in the administration of our community affairs. Unless you have served as a board member, it is impossible to appreciate these efforts. The board members perform a variety of duties that would need to be done by our management company. This saves our membership a considerable amount of money every year in management fees. They perform various administrative tasks regarding our financial affairs, send information via mail and email to our members, and coordinate the movement the various documents with the management company and lawyers for every sale, share transaction, and rental approval. This dedication helps keep our maintenance fees low.

Other examples of our volunteerism include:

The 2024-2025 season included .....................
